God Smiles When He Thinks Of You

I wanted to share something small that happened yesterday—but honestly, it didn’t feel small at all.

If you know me, you know I have a love for butterflies. They always catch my eye. So, I was walking through Walmart, minding my business, when I happened to glance up and see a butterfly coloring book. And right beside it was another one that said, “God smiles when He thinks of you.”

At first, I kept walking. But a few steps later, it hit me—hard. Out of all the aisles I could have walked down, I chose that one. And it felt like God was gently saying, “Hey, I’m right here. I’m still talking to you.”

Lately, I’ve felt a lot like Angel in Redeeming Love—closed off, guarded, and not sure who to trust, even God. I’ve asked Him to show me His true character, not the harsh version religion sometimes paints, but the real Him.

And this was one of those quiet answers. No thunder, no dramatic sign—just a coloring book with a butterfly and a reminder that He smiles when He thinks of me.

He’s slowly healing me. One soft, ordinary moment at a time.

If you’ve been asking God to show you, He’s real, pay attention to the little things. He often speaks in whispers disguised as ordinary.
